Dear, since last update (1764) the install procedure halts upon every try. I finally installed by skipping the halted file and continue anyway.
Now upon starting MM I get "error:UPnP.dll is not compatible with this version of MM! Reinstall MM" But a reinstall only results in the install process halting a bit before halfway. So I find myself in a loop.
Years ago this happended as well and dissapeared with the next update...
I run Win 7.
Can you help?
Greets, Kurt

Re: UPnP.dll is not compatible
Try restarting the PC and reinstalling. It worked fine for me.

Re: UPnP.dll is not compatible
If only life was so easy...
Restart and reinstall does not work. Tried several times. Also downloaded teh file a couple of times to make sure the download was(t faulty.
No, this is a more serious issue. My guess is that MM uses the UPnP.dll file from the older version.Question is why it will not install the new UPnP.dll...
Tnx for your reply though.

Re: UPnP.dll is not compatible
Are you using the MM service? If so Upnp.dll is loaded in memory and so the file can't be replaced while installing.KurtBe wrote:

You can kill the process manually via task manager.

Re: UPnP.dll is not compatible
You can always try to use http://www.lockhunter.com/index.htm and see what is locking UPnP.dll and Kill Task.

Re: UPnP.dll is not compatible
Thank you both for the reply.
I am indeed using MM service recently.
I will try to arrange things based on your suggestions after this reply.
Asuming I will solve the problem, does this mean I will have this problem any time I install a MM update and choose to use MM service?
Kind regards, and thanks again for the hints.

Re: UPnP.dll is not compatible
Yes, I solved it.
I first tried to uninstall the service witin MM (Options/Mediasharing/install Services), but that did not work.
Going into taskmanager as Nohitter151 suggested, showed a MediaMonkey exe file under processes, which I stopped.
After that the update installed as it should.
There was no need for the lockhunter that Peke suggested. But thanks for the hint.
I hope I will still remeber this next time there is an update...

Re: UPnP.dll is not compatible
Hi Guys,
I am still grateful for the offered solution , because it is still applicable. Everytime I update MM, I've got to apply this solution.
I hope this helps others to.

Re: UPnP.dll is not compatible
Hi,
Service can't be uninstalled if installed and started by different user, but again users with admin access can kill process.
Unfortunately this is normal behavior and we can't do much about it. Thank you for confirming that process kill still works.
