<Auto Number> doesn't work when synchronising to MP3 p

Post by PatrickV »

Hi,
I was trying to synchronize my MP3 player. In the Help I saw you could use the tag <Auto Numver> or <Auto Number:n> to copy the contents of a playlist to the MP3 Player. This to be able to play your playlist in the correct order on the MP3 player (Mine doesn't support m3u playlists)
This numbering doesn't seem to work here. Instead all tracks show 000 in the number field.
Any Ideas ??

Thanks a lot.

I have the same problem. PLEASE HELP !!!!

Post by RatedR »

I download streaming radio music and since after a few hours I have hundreds of music mp3 files, I would like to add sequencial numbers in the file name so when I download them to my MP3 player I could remember the numbers of the songs that I like and would be able to pick them out without a hassle. So far I love MediaMonkey but I can't get the <Auto Number> option to work because when I implement it, it ends up putting 000 in front of each song name instead of a number. PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!

Well, this was originally considered to be CD burning feature only, but since it seems to be quite requested for Synchronization as well, I'll check out what can be done for the next release.

I see, that would be great. When you read the help file you get the impression that it should work.

Ok, in the next release it will be possible to use <Auto Number> field not only in CD burning, but also in Device Synchronization, Auto-Organize and Convertions.

Hi Jiri,

<Auto Number> still don't work. When do you think it will be possible to use?

Are you sure you have the latest version of MediaMonkey (2.5.3)?

Hi Lowlander

I use V. 2.5.3.963

When I try to convert songs to a different format in a different folder, I use the mask

Code: Select all

D:\mp3\mpio gemischt TopTitles\<Auto Number>~<Interpret>~<Titel>
Shortly after MM is trying to convert I get the error
Datei D:\mp3\mpio gemischt TopTitles\<Auto Number>~The Sisters Of Mercy~More.wma konnte nicht erstellt werden.
In English this means
Could not create file D:\mp3\mpio gemischt TopTitles\<Auto Number>~The Sisters Of Mercy~More.wma successfuly.

Any suggestions?

as i can see on your mask you obviously use a german ui

in that case you can't use the tag <Auto Number> because that's the
english tag.

use

D:\mp3\mpio gemischt TopTitles\<autom. Nummerierung>~<Interpret>~<Titel>

instead.
