can't RIP CDR

I ripped a half dozen CDs with no problem but when I tried to rip a CDR I got an error message. Actually I got one for each track, one at a time and that was big pain and time waster. Any ideas? I'm using winxp pro and the latest download of MM.

Does the CD play normally. Could there be damage to the disk preventing the ripper to read it correctly?
