File Properties: The two buttons in bottom left corner buggy

Post by Flint4 »

Hi,

I believe I've just found a graphical bug in MMW beta. When I open the file properties of a music file, there are two green buttons on the bottom left corner of the properties window. If I hoover with the mouse over these buttons, the button on the left-hand side changes its direction from left to right. The functionality is fine, but it looks weird when the button changes its direction when using it :)

I was able to reproduce this on my laptop as well.

This looks like Skin issue, can you replicate on Clean MMW portable version?

Good point, but it happens on a clean portable installation as well:

Hi,
Ok call me stupid but I'm still not being able to replicate the problem.

Would it be too much to ask you to create small video to show the bug.

BTW what version of MMW you use?

Hi,

I've found out that the error occurs only when full skinning is enabled. "Options > Skin > Override Skin theme with Windows System theme (requires restart)"

Here is the video: http://screencast.com/t/nx5jz1okEP

MMW 4.1.6.1723 (Portable Mode)

Video starts out with both left and right arrow showing in left button, then mouse hover switches between them. I can't reproduce either on the latest portable skinned debug beta.

Thank you for this hint which took me to the solution of this issue after testing with deactivated Windows services. It was probably a bug in my installed anti-virus software (Kaspersky Antivirus 15.0.0.463) which caused the issue . After an update to KAV 15.0.1.415 the problem was gone :o . It is interesting how deep such anti-virus software can influence the functionality of other software like MMW :-? .

I think the problem is solved. Maybe it would be an idea to move this thread to a MMW support forum because it is not directly related to the beta.
Best wishes,

Hi,
No need for moving, AV issue is known problem As their svcanning engine is not perfect, it is just an app like MMW and it tries to do its best for a given job at hand. Same thing is with MMW which in order to better service its users, use various hacks and hints to be independent as possible.

Also due teh fact that MMW developnent involve speedy releases, it can happen that unknown changes in MMW (commonly with night build) trigger alert "Hey, this app is changed again and previous version was also changed within 49h. Lets Lock it, to see if someone will complain"
