MMW/4.1.x Can't get nested playlists from remote MMW/4.1.x

Post by toyzrme »

MMW 4.1.1672, on Win7/x64. Wired network.

Trying to play content using a client MMW/4 connected to a MMW/4 server on the same network. Both are running the latest Beta (4.1.1672).

The client can see the server, and open the "Playlists" node. I see the top-level nodes (Classical, Music, Playlists). I open "Playlists", and see the standard OOB ones (Fave top 50, last 50, etc.), plus a new one I created on the server ("test"), *BUT* I see NONE of the playlists below "test" (I have a small hierarchy on the remote box, 2 more levels below "test"). It shows the twisty on "test", but when I click it, it just goes away.

For example, in the tree below, the 3 labeled "MISSING" are just not there at all.

Remote Server
_Playlists
___. . .
___Favorite Top 50
___. . .
___test
______(XMas1 = MISSING)
_________(XMas11 = MISSING)
______(XMas2 = MISSING)
___. . .

Thanks.

Environment:
MMW: ~25,000 tracks, MM.DB on 16Gbps PCIe SSD (Samsung 950 Pro) - up-to-date, not Beta
MMA: ~12,000 tracks sync'd to phone - up-to-date, not Beta
PC: Windows 10/64, Skylake quad+HT @4.2GHz, 64GB RAM, 14TB RAID6
Phone: Galaxy S10 (128GB) + 400GB mSD card (Samsung EVO+)
Sync: all tracks rated >=3 sync'd to phone
.........all playlists only use tracks rated >=3
.........thus sync'ing is 99.99% playlist update - no tracks are sync'd, other than new purchases
Playlists: ~59 synced
..........most are auto-playlists
..........use attributes Rating, Last Played, Date recorded, Genre, Genre "contains", Path "contains"
..........many are nested, i.e. "Top AutoPlaylist" includes "Level 2 AutoPL #1" + "Level 2 AutoPL #2" etc.

Are they enable to be shared in the Media Server settings? I've not had any problems with nested Playlists.

I also have no issue with nested playlists, all are visible (MMW/4.1 connected to a MMW/4.1)

Look at the [Shared content] of your MM server (Options -> Media Sharing (UPnP/DLNA) -> <server> -> [Shared content]) to see if all playlists are checked there.

Working for me now - I think what may have happened, I didn't realize there would be a lag between selecting the parent, and seeing the child playlists (4-5 seconds for me), and I may have had a network glitch the first time I tried it, so it never came back.

So you can close as 'working'.

Thanks!
