Changing multiple song properties on dupes only updates one

Title:
Changing multiple song properties on dupes only updates one

Synopsis:
When adding the artist to duplicate songs in the Files to Edit | Unknown Artist branch it only updated one file. I think that the files have to be duplicate scans (i.e. same path)

Steps to reproduce:
1) Navigate to the Files to Edit | Unknown Artist branch
2) Highlight duplicate songs
3) Right click on the selection
4) choose 'Properties'
5) Select the check box to the right of the 'Artist' box.
6) Add the artist name to the 'Artist' box.
7) Choose OK
8) Refresh the Files to Edit | Unknown Artist branch. Only one of the multiple files were updated.

Changing multiple song properties on dupes only updates one

Numbnuts,

I tried replicating the problem with 2 tracks that were 'real' duplicates (i.e. same path, filenames different by 1 character, ID3V2 title fields identical), and found that editing multiple properties worked fine.

That said, I think you might be experiencing a bug similar to the two below in which, somehow, multiple entries for the same track make their way into the db:

Do you think that this is the problem you're experiencing? Do you know repro steps for this (as you can see from the earlier posts, I haven't been able to replicate this yet).

Thanks for your help.

Still can repro

Thanks for the reply Rusty,

Hmm. I don't think that those bugs are the issue. These were dupes that were in my old database.

I was able to repro this on Win 2k as well.

Not sure what to say. If you can't repro it, it's hard to fix ;)
