Navigate to a folder in the My Computer node.
Ctrl+A to select all
Right-click select properties.
Change Disc#
Click ok. The Disc# column will show the changes you've just made.
Navigate away from the folder you've just edited and when you return the Disc# information will have disappeared.
It also happens if you just make a single change, or if you click in the column itself and make the edit that way.
This doesn't seem to happen following the same steps but using the Playlists node.
I've already sent a debug log in with the same info.
Otherwise I'm loving MM3 so far!

MM3 RC2 FLAC loses Disc# info [F4058] [F4108]

Change to Disc # doesn't get saved
Stan9980,
I tried to replicate this but the tag updated correctly.
Is the bug specific to a particular format?
Was volume analysis/leveling running at the time?
Are tags set to be saved?
Does the problem only occur with Disc#?
btw, I don't seem to have received the debug log...

Hi rusty,
It only seems to affect FLAC files.
No volume analysis/leveling was running.
Tags are set to be saved.
Yes only Disc# - and only in the My Computer node.
I can change any other tag and it will stay changed, but changing Disc# in the My Computer node, followed by switching to a different folder or node (either immediately or much later), and then returning will cause the disc# to be blank.
As I said in my first post, it doesn't happen if I change the disc# in the playlist node and it doesn't happen to any other tag.
I've just tried an mp3 and they stay updated.
I'll try to send another debug in a few minutes.

FLAC file attribute isn't saved to tag
stan9980,
Please send me the flac file in question--I can't replicate this.
note: if it's a large file, you can send it via yousendit.com
thx.

Hi rusty,
I've just noticed something, it happens on every FLAC file I've tried but only happens when I start the disc# with a letter.
If I just use a number it stays. I hadn't even thought to try that - sorry!
However starting with a letter everywhere else works, but not under the My Computer node.
If you still want a FLAC file let me know, but the letter/disc# occurs on every FLAC file I've tried.

FLAC doesn't retain alphanumeric data in disc# field
Thx. Reproduced and added to the todo list.

Tags entered that begin with letters do now stay when entered in the My Computer node.
However, the disc# field contains -1 when you first look at it in RC4. This happens for both existing folders containing FLAC files that were there pre-RC4 and newly created ones post-RC4 install, under the My Computer node.
If you make a change, ie enter CD1, it will stick, even if you change folders. However if you delete the -1 and make the field blank, change folders and return it will be -1 again.

Disc# Track# problems
Remaining issue will be fixed for FLAC in RC5.

Hi Rusty
I am having similar problems with FLAC files in the My Computer node. If I make changes to Title, Artist, Genre or Year (so perhaps others that I havn't tried) one at a time they are saved, but if I do it as a block they appear to be save but are lost if I navigate away (to change another disk) and then come back.
using v 3.0.1.1127
Great program, thanks
