[SOLVED] Export to Playlist default name "New playlist.m3u"

Post by HuckYu »

Hello guys,

Here's an easy one:

When using either the "Export to Playlist..." (Ctrl + E) command from the File menu, or right-click MM playlist -> Send to -> "M3U/XSPF Playlist..."

both options default the playlist name to "New playlist.m3u" when they should assume the name of the MM playlist.

Reported as a bug because it should be simple to store the playlist name var and just pass it along to the dialog.

Thanks guys!

Hi,
What you want to archive is better to be done using Scripting than Export As playlists which means selected tracks not actual playlist and thus the reason why you always get new Playlist each time.

FYI No need for double posts.

...And there it is! :o

It wasn't until I read this site that I realized you guys already have a script (built-in) for it:

Just when I thought there's no way you who make such great software could've overlooked something so simple. Doh!

Problem solved.

Thank you again!

I had exactly the same issue and was going to create a new post before I found this one. In addition to passing the playlist name to the saveas dialog box, it would be handy if the saveas dialog box remembered where the previous playlist was saved.

The built in script for saving all playlists saves m3u format but not xspf, so was not useful for my particular application. Perhaps something else to consider modifying.
