One of the best features of MM is how well it manages large collections. However, when changes that were not made in MM are done to only a portion of the library, you currently have to either (1) select each individual artist and/or album for each of the changes made (a tedious process if you have changed a couple hundred different random tracks), or (2) rescan the entire library, which for large libraries can take 30 minutes or more (and that is with 8 GB of RAM).
It would be great if you could selectively rescan only those tracks contained in a playlist. You could also add to smart playlists a variable for "file modified date."

MediaMonkey can automatically (Gold feature) pick up the changes if you have MediaMonkey running and Folder Monitoring enabled on the folder (or parent folder) of the file(s) being changed.
