A missing tool or a wish?

Post by windcrest77 »

I think this is an oversight and not a wish list item but here it is...

All the menu options in the now playing menu are not available as toolbar buttons that can be hosted in tool bars. For some of these options you still have to have the now playing menu showing and use multiple clicks to do things when it would be better to have a button available in the open. Namely the "Clear" menu option to clear the now playing list.

Would it be a big deal to make the toolbar customization of buttons "complete" in the next release and add these buttons? Right now the program appears to be "incomplete" so from my vantage this is not really a wish list request, just asking to finish the "Toolbar Configuration" dialog to include everything so it is actually completed and finished and up to date with all available functions. The Clear button is something everyone needs especially in the open since clearing the playlist is so basic.

mediamonkey makes the now playling playlist a static m3u list, each time you start mm, it does keep the songs in it from the previous session in its database and readd them to the new m3u list. (unless you set it to clear them.) so i think the tool bar for now playing can not have the feature you want? :-?

I'm talking about just being able to clear out the Now Playing pane quickly, not to actually have it update something. In other words just duplicate the existing "Edit/Clear" command in the Now Playing Edit menu drop down, as a button that I could have in open view all the time in a custom toolbar in the main system toolbar. For example I can add the "Occasion" button to my toolbar, why cant I add a button that simple Clears the current contents of Now Playing as though clicked Edit/Clear on that menu? I often clear the now playing pane to audition a different batch of songs.
