Issue with 'Find more from same album' [#16169]

Post by Davo »

The issue for me is the definition of "more" ie More what?
In other applications this generally means more tracks, ie the whole album.
This is quite useful because if i have selected a track and then want to view the whole album i can do it easily from the context menu

David, you might want to clarify your question because it seems confusing (to me :D )

You are not seeing this from the Find More Of The Same menu?

The top entry in that popup menu links to the whole album, which is what you appear to be asking for.
Want a dark skin for MM5? This is the one that works best for me .. elegant, compact & clear.

Where's the db and ini stored
Reporting Bugs
Where tags are stored

Further explanation
This is the sequence of actions
1. Select Collection - Classical
2. Select sub node Composer
3. Select Album (to clarify this album will have multiple composers)
up this point all is ok - The album will only display tracks by the selected composer.

My issue is i now want to see the whole album & imo 'Find more from same album' should do this. ie display all the tracks on the album. Unfortunately it seems to search for tracks by the composer first selected so of course it finds nothing

Yes I confirm ... and I agree that it isn't what you would expect, nor want to happen.

It seems to be a bug just in the Composer node ... example: if I am in the Album node, and then select one of its tracks, and asked for Find More From Same Composer, it breaks out of the current album, and shows me all albums containing work by the Composer.

Similar thing if I start from the Genre node.

So it is reasonable to expect that the Composer node also follows this pattern.

It's not just Composer, the same problem exists with the conductor node.
I think the issue is with the selection - 'Find more from same album'. To repeat my original question which has not been answered yet. What is the definition of "more" ie More what?

In other applications this generally means more tracks, ie the whole album.
