Wrong file naming while synchronization to memory stick

Post by Zonky »

Hi,

Of course all my MP3 files are tagged correctly, e.g. artist, interpret, title and much more. When synchronizing my songs as set up in a device profile to my memory stick, all files get a default name like:
D:\Music\8 Letters\Song#2 Interpret - Titel_1.mp3
D:\Music\8 Letters\Song#2 Interpret - Titel_2.mp3
D:\Music\Growing Pains\Song#2 Interpret - Titel.mp3
and so on.

The device profile for file locations is customized as follows:

Code: Select all

\Music\<Album>\<Song#:2> <Interpret> - <Titel>
I've copied this over from MM4.

This file location template perfectly works with MM4, btw. Maybe this does not work anymore, although MM5 uses the very same place holdes?
Edit: just noticed that lots of those previous available place holders, e.g. song, interpret, title do not exist anymore within MM5. At least I cannot select them from the list of available tags.

Edit2: Even when chaing the location to

Code: Select all

\Music\<Album>\<Track#:2> <Original Artist> - <Original Title>
the file names still show wrong names.[/b]

cu,
Michael

It looks you have mask in german language ? Convert your mask to language used by MM5 and it should work (by default it's english).
This mask does not work ?

Code: Select all

\Music\<Album>\<Track#:2> <Artist> - <Title>

So you should definitely not translate those masks into other languages than English, if MM has got some problems with it and accepts only English names.

Unfortunately no. Just copied it from your reply above into the appropriate text box, pressed button apply in device profile window, deleted all files from memory stick and re-synched. Files still named like
Song#2 Interpret - Titel.mp3
As montioned above, I already tried this line below with English mask names and still no success:

Code: Select all

\Music\<Album>\<Track#:2> <Original Artist> - <Original Title>

Petr,

I'm running English language and have just sent you an e-mail with both requested files.

Thanks,
Michael

Sync doesn't work correctly even after MM5 restart, right ?

btw track# mask should be <Track #> (space before # character).
