DSD support [#11184]

Hi, does/will this version have DSD feature? I have a DAC that supports native DSD via USB. Would MM5 be able to play SACD .iso files and output them natively through ASIO?

Hi,
MMW do not natively support ASIO (I have TASCAM US 2X2 that support ASIO v2.0) nor it supports ISO playback. DSD is planned but not thru ISO ATM.

Does it support .dsd files yet?
I noticed now that DSD albums are appearing on HDtracks, Acoustic Sounds & ProStudioMasters.
They seem to be getting more common.

Thanks for your reply.
I just thought I would check.

Digital music seems to be heading that way.

.dsf support for MM5 would be great. I see that it's a niche, but that's what audio players are in 2018 anyway...

Is this still a "no"? I'm tired of JRiver's legendary counter-intuitivity and its developers' crassness.

You might want to look at Audirvana, roon or Vox then. MM seems to be investing it resources in the MP3 only Google Play. Shame.

That is unfair: MM can play hi res files up tu 24bits 192kHz in flac format.

Audirvana for Windows is a sad little thing. It doesn't support even asio as I remember from the trial when it first got out.

It's ironic that still the "best" audio player on windows is the free foobar2000. JRiver got so ridiculously technical that even a basic listening function requires many settings in order to trust what you are hearing. I liken its developers to "boiling frog fable". They are so blind that it became a niche software for people who have more time to tamper with it than listening to music. Its target is TV watching for the last few years anyway.
And after a repeat of trying MediaMonkey I see what you mean. It is like it is frozen in 2000's Napster times.
Sad...

Please include DSD (.dsf, .dff) support in MM5 . . .

$100 Commercial media players can easily rip DSD files now. Even MFSL is steadily releasing new materials on SACD.

Thank you.

Hi,
DSD solution is investigated for MM5. I will soon test first decoder, but we usually do not clain it is supported format till playback/Tagging is fully supported.
