update db, boolean on query, and other questions

Post by Waruju »

First, and maybe so classic but itĺs true, I really like this program, itĺs so
great. And Iĺm sorry because when the first time see the interface,
Iĺm not sure with its work :-? , but apparentlyů itĺs very very
useful!!
Very thanks for making itů

Second, I have some problems and questions here:
- How to update just the 'new' or changed field to database (so if I fill
some tag field in other programs, the field already exist in songs-db
won't be replaced)?
- How to use Boolean expression in query esp. in advanced query?
- Why songs-db (in minimize or idle mode) often take resources so high?
- Is there any chances in the next versions so we can browse tree like in
the windows explorer, right main window isn't constantly song view, but
also show the content of tree, node, media, folder, artist, and so on. So
we wonĺt be exhausted just scrolling and scrolling tree for browsing node
content.
- And how about another external player (eg jet-audio)?

Thanks and keep songs-db be the best mp3 organizer.

The interface is going to be quite improved in the next version, so that even from the first glance it won't be hard to use it.

- currently it is supposed that Songs-DB is used for tags modification, so that it isn't necessary to update from other programs. You would have to remove song and rescan it. In the next version this will change.
- complex expressions will be added to queries, maybe not in the next version, but definitely very soon.
- Songs-DB uses a lot of things and therefore it needs a lot of resources, but hopefully something will be improved here too.
- It is possible that tree content will be shown in the right view too, but probably not in the next version.
- Currently there are no plans for adding other external player support, but maybe some will be added later.

Thanks for your points,
Jiri
