Track order

I have synced my classical collection to an Android phone. My track titles (and filenames) almost all start with a number eg 1st movement, 2nd movement. On the PC this works well, I sort my tracks alphabetically and they play in order. On the Android phone they are in some other order, not what I want. How do I make them appear in order on the phone?

I can get them in order by re-ordering the "Now playing" list, but I want to use this in the car and I don't want to have to do that while driving - much too dangerous! it would be much easier if the tracks appeared in order and then I can simply play from the first one.

MMA has no custom sorting (yet), it only uses Album sorting: Album > Album Artist > Disc# > Track# > Title.

The majority of my tracks have no track number at all, so it's using something that isn't track number. So far as I can see they're ordered either by track length or by file size.
