Multiple artists on one track

Hello,
This week I downloaded media monkey on my galaxy s2 so I could store all my music on my external sd card. The syncing takes time but good things come to those who wait, eh? My main issue is when I have multiple artists on one track. One of the reasons I came away from iTunes was because their devices and software did not support this but I understood that media monkey did. A number of things appear to be happening. When I separate the artists with a ";" on my PC, it does appear to recognise more than one artist. However when I have synced my phone, I get (for example) Beyonce as an artist, Jay Z as an artist and either Beyonce/Jay Z or Beyonce ; Jay Z as additional artists with tracks only appearing once and not under each credited artist.
Are my settings wrong?
The reason I think they might be is because when I've connected via plug n play, everything appears as it should!
