My MM rt can not play the apple losseless music (.m4a) from itunes.

It is because ALAC decoder is not part of Windows 8 (RT). Desktop version can play it using Apple QuickTime or paid decoder (part of MM Codec pack). There is no decoder for Win8RT yet. Maybe it will be in the future, but I assume, it will be only in paid version, because of license fees.
