600 - Going to new song doesn't change artwork [#13334]

mma: 600, Samsung g5, new os update
After playing a track and then starting the next track it doesn't update then artwork OR the text. Second track plays fine.
I tried "next" and it started the second track again and changed artwork. Then next again and it worked correctly.
I then let it play through and when it changed tracks .. it did not change artwork or verbage

By the way I haven't seen this behavior on my tablet running 600

I tested this out:
- for the NP Art view: can't replicate
- for the NP list view: can't replicate
- for the notifications drawer: can't replicate
- for the lock screen: I'm able to replicate--the persistent MMA notification doesn't update correctly on 'natural' track transitions. Can you confirm that this is what you're observing?

Also, on an S5 mini running Android 5.x, the problem doesn't occur, but on an S7 running Android 6.x the problem does occur.

I am seeing this and other on the Art View screen .. right now I have started a track and it shows the artwork. Now it has changed to next song but the artwork stays the same. Again the text stays and the progress bar shows fully played.
The really odd thing is that when it gets to the 3rd or 4th song it seems to just stop playing.
Lock screen doesn't change either.
Tracks view doesn't change either.

For me it is easily reproducible. It's really messed up.

Thanks rusty .. just a note. After the second song plays .. no other songs play. MMA continues to show the pause button and if you don't stop it sucks up battery (more than I have seen before i think). It's like it thinks it is playing but no sound comes out.

Temporary fix: I turned off transitions (none) and now it all works .. artwork changes .. more than 2 songs play.
