Can't get MonkeySqueeze to work with Squeezebox Boom

Post by davetrow »

I'm trying to play an audio CD from my computer's built-in CD/DVD drive using MonkeySqueeze to a Logitech Squeezebox, but all I get on the Squeezebox in "Now Playing" is "Nothing."

The CD is playing and can be accessed from the PC headphone jack.

If I set the LMS media folder back to "My Music" on the PC and use the LMS web interface to play something from that folder, the Squeezebox works.

I went through the instructions for MonkeySqueeze and LMS options three times, and checked the Troubleshooting Guide (had to put the backslash at the end of the empty media folder I made for LMS). The LMS IP address option in MonkeySqueeze can be set to either the actual IP address of my computer (192.168.1.172) or to the default 127... address; it makes no difference.

When I run netstat the only sign of port 9000 is at TCP, Local = 0.0.0.0:9000, Foreign = DAVE-PC:0, Status = LISTENING, PID 7304 (which doesn't show up in Task Manager Services).

I also see TCP Local = 192.168.1.172 :3483 Foreign = Squeezebox:27096 Status = ESTABLISHED PID=7304. Changing the MonkeySqueeze LMS port setting to 3483 doesn't help.

I don't see anything else in netstat or Task Manager that seems to bear on this problem.

Any suggestions?

Here's my software information:

MediaMonkey Standard Version 4.1.6.1736 (downloaded two days ago).
