Req: Link to RateYourMusic.com Script
Req: Link to RateYourMusic.com Script
Was wondering if anyone had made a script that would simply link you to RateYourMusic.com so that you could rate albums you have in MM? I see where people have requested a script that would automatically pass MM ratings on to RYM, but I'd be happy with one step simpler: Just have it add a link to the RYM album page for each song in MM, you can update the site yourself. That way I wouldn't have to search for each album by hand on the website.
Re: Req: Link to RateYourMusic.com Script
This from the RYM faq:
So it isn't possible at the moment.6.1. Do you have an API / Web service?
Unfortunately, we currently do not. However we do have plans to introduce a comprehensive API in the future. We can't provide an ETA or any specifics at the moment, but keep an eye on this ticket: RYMzilla #683 (Waiting) and the dev blog for updates on this.
Re: Req: Link to RateYourMusic.com Script
I think you may misunderstand. I don't want a script to autoupdate the rating. I just want it to create a link to the album's RYM page. So for instance, the script would check a file metadata, see that the artist=The Hold Steady and the album=Teeth Dreams and produce "https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album ... th_dreams/". If I'm listening to something, I'd just right click the file, follow the link to RYM, then manually update my rating.
Re: Req: Link to RateYourMusic.com Script
If you get correct URL mask that works always I can make you small script to make it happen. After that you should be able to enhance it.

Re: Req: Link to RateYourMusic.com Script
Thanks Poke.
All the URLs are formed like the one above. I checked a few with special characters in it and this is what I get: https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album ... ft_of_them_/
https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album ... and_codes/
So spaces, commas, ?'s, etc all get turned into underscores. It's always:
https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album ... album_name*/
