I have recently uninstalled/reinstalled MM and this script and have come across an error when trying to search from MusicBrainz:

Error #13 - Microsoft VBScript runtime error
Type mismatch: 'response(...)(...)(...)(...)(...)'
File: {path}, Line: 6132, Column: 8

Clicking OK on that error brought up another message:

Error happened during script execution:
Type mismatch: 'response(...)(...)(...)(...)(...)'

What is needed for this script to run properly? I want to make sure I have everything needed before saying this is truly a bug (unless others have encountered it)

Which Version you have installed from Discogs Tagger?
Did the error every time come across when searching for an album?

I am not 100% sure about this point yet but currently I cannot find an album for that cover download does work at all.
I just tried to tag the album 10204889 from discogs. The download of the cover was successfully. I still have Windows 7. So the problem comes from Windows 10 ?
Well... I know it sounds really stupid but I was just about to test the "Windows 7 compatibility"-mode on Windows 10 but suddenly the problem disappeared and cover download is working suddenly (without changing anything). Tested it on two machines that did not work before.
Sorry, I have no explanation or excuse, it is just strange. Only explanation would be that discogs somehow changed their website interface but no idea if this is really likely.
I will keep watching it Oo

That's really strange. It may be possible, that Discogs had problems with their cover servers.
Or a new patch from Windows 10 removed this "bug".

I'm happy that it work again!

I just started working with this and it looks pretty good, but I have a question and a bug report.

First, the question: Is there an option to uncheck all of the tag categories so that I can re-check only the ones I want to use? In most cases for my collection all I want is the album art, and occasionally one or two other categories, and it's laborious to uncheck every other box manually.

Second, the bug: In the process of unchecking the boxes, I have found that DT insists on re-selecting the format and genres. This happens repeatedly and doesn't appear to occur with any other categories that I've seen so far.

Thanks!

The easiest way (it's what I did a long time back) is to select the categories you want to tag and then, before closing the DT window, click on "Save Options". DT will then remember them. If you unselect the "genre" checkbox, each checkbox for genre is checked but the genres won't get written. Likewise for pretty much everything else. Just uncheck the categories you don't want tagged and save, you will never worry about them again.

Thanks, that helps.

I still have the bug problem, however. DT insists on re-selecting "Format" after I unselect it, and it doesn't allow me to Save Options with it unselected before it's re-selected, which means I have to go back into track properties afterwards and correct or delete the tag myself (or just live with the tag). Annoying behavior, though trivial.

Hi,
yes, you are right, it's a bug. I just tested it. I will release a new version of DT soon.

Thank you for reporting it !

Discogs Tagger on MusicBrainz

Hello,

I am receiving the following error message:

Error #13 - Microsoft VBScript runtime error
Type mismatch: 'response(...)(...)(...)(...)(...)'
File: {path}, Line: 6138, Column: 8

Followed by

Error happened during script execution:
Type mismatch: 'response(...)(...)(...)(...)(...)'

I uninstalled version 5.6.1, clearing all previous information, and installed version 5.6, and performed the upgrade. I have MusicBrainz Tagger selected in the options. Further troubleshooting showed that when looking up artist and song only, I received the above errors. When looking up artist, song, and album, it worked as expected, and filled out the rest of the information (including the cover art).

Thanks for this work - it's a life saver!

Hi Snowblind1,

i'm back home and checked the problem you reported. I can't find the issue, so please try to tag an album again and if the error occur, send me the file Discogs_Script.log. You can find it here: c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\MediaMonkey\Scripts . This Log-File should help me find the reason of the error-message. Thank you !
