Mostly just reporting on this one, because it works again.
  • Reinstalled the plugin. (Long story, MMW issues.)
  • Asked to reauthorize this time.
  • Did that, but may not have waited long enough.
  • Plugin would do an initial search, but changing anything went to the OAuth error.
  • Tried to Reauthorize, problems accessing the site; error with the API address.)
  • Plugin the numbers in the options; no good.
  • Restart, no; Reboot, no; restart, no;
  • Disable Proxy, no.
  • Post a complaint about MMW, come back, and it works.
The last authorization was almost exactly a month ago. Does the authorization expire?
Some weird routing glitch between me and Discogs?
Just unlucky?
Too impatient? (It was about 30 minutes between start of issue, and magic resolution.)

this wouldn't work, sorry. I need to interact with the Browser and this works perfect with activeX and the Internet Explorer. :(
Why do you need to interact with the browser, though? Isn't the discogs direct link available and enough to open it?

The authorization didn't expire. Maybe the "reauthorize-procedere" is the problem. I will try it after work.

The main window of the Discogs Tagger is a html-page. I need to interact with the page to recognize pushed Buttons etc...

Don't look too hard on my account. I just have general issues with Media Monkey. I'm going to try optimizing more often than every 1000 changes. Maybe that will help.

I seem to be having a problem with the Tagger finding anything by "Mötley Crüe." Won't find it by searching, but if I copy / paste the release number into the Search bar, it comes right up.

Not sure if it's because of the un-neccesary umlauts, or if Discogs Tagger is trying to protect me from crappy '80s hair-metal.

This is a known issue that's been reported already, it's discogs fault, we have to wait for it to be fixed. Basically, special characters like ö, ç, ã, etc, won't get results. If you search by album you can find it.

I understand that you need that for the Tagger window, but when you're simply opening the browser for us you won't need to interact with it anymore. You can use a shell command for that, I think.

Yes, i can do that. But i don't know, at which point i should open the browser window. :(

Well, without examining your code, I couldn't really say exactly. But my guess would be that when you construct the html you create anchor tags for the artist, album, etc. You would need to handle the click event of these and use the command shell instead. This is just the theory, of course, not sure what exactly you'd need to change.

Just a thought, if it's easy. How about clearing all filters when pasting a release number in the Search bar? Or at least having an option.

Which filters do you mean? The country/type/format/year filters? The filters do not work if you paste a release number in the search bar. Please explain it a little further, if i didn't understand it.

When I start "Auto tag from Web" I have the media type set to CD, and Country to US. If I find a release that does not fit that, I get the message that no match was found. I then have to change the filter so that it shows all countries or all media types, and the search will succeed. I was hoping to have it set so that when I paste a release number into the Search bar, this happens automatically.

It's also entirely possible that there is something wrong with my new MMW installation already, and my plugin is not behaving the way it should. Wouldn't surprise me.

I think i got it. If you try to tag a release, but the script didn't find one, cause the filters are set, the script should automatically remove the filters?

Some scripts have problems, if mmw is installed in the standard folder c:\program files\ . (Permissions problem)
If you install mmw again, you should try to install mmw in another folder e.q. c:\Mediamonkey or c:\Music\MediaMonkey.
