I am getting Error 429.

It looks like it has something to do with the malware called Internet Explorer that I removed from my computer. I don't want to go through the trouble of infecting my computer with it just to get this token.

Is there no way to use Firefox or Chrome? What do non Windows users do?

Thank you for posting this bug! I will soon release a new version!
Works great Thanks!

Hi,

i agree with your posting, but any webbrowser call used within MediaMonkey uses IE. There is no way using another browser, sorry. Non windows user can't use this script. :(

If you post the full error message, i can try to help you.

Wait, Media Monkey is hard-coded to use Internet Explorer?

That sounds odd. Is this something new from Microsoft to get people to use Internet Explorer? I can't remember the last time I used an application that forced me into a specific browser.

No, MediaMonkey isn't hard-coded to use INet Explorer. The code language of Discogs Tagger is vbs and it use the INet Explorer.

Maybe the Discogs Batch Tagger could be the solution. The Discogs Batch Tagger was written in Autoit3 code language. It uses the INet Explorer at 2 places in the script, maybe i can change it, so any browser could be used. But this needs time..

Oh, that's OK then. I was more concerned that there was an issue with Media Monkey itself. You keep doing what you're doing. It's people like you that are making Media Monkey great for tag management.

I actually use Edge Explorer on my Windows 10 touchscreen laptops, so I never even noticed. It works so much nicer with the touch interface than Firefox, which I use on all my non-touchscreen computers.

I've started following this procedure to tag;

1. Select files, right click, and select "Auto Tag from Web."
2. While waiting for the popup, I click on the arrow to open the google search while I'm waiting.

I've noticed that when I do this, the Auto-Tag box opens in front of Edge Explorer, and I can't bring Edge to the front, until I select the main Media Monkey window. I can also "Alt-Tab" to return focus to Media Monkey, and then "Alt-Tab" again to return to Edge.

Just me?

Regarding the IE issue, I'm not sure if this will help:

Dim wsh
Set wsh=WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
wsh.Run "http://www.google.com"

This will open the predefined browser. If you have the full url, you can try this alternative.

Thanks for that.

I really wish I was capable of coding. :o

I mean, I understand what that does on a basic level, but I just scrolled through the script, and now my head hurts. I have very little chance of finding where to put that. Would someone please help?

You should wait for the script to get updated. I posted that for crap_inhuman, really :)

While you're still working on it, I do have another "feature" to add to the options (global ones, maybe?):
-I don't use the featuring either on the title or on the artist and it's kinda annoying when the playlist has "<artist> feat whoever". Can you add an option to always use the artist on the right of the pic? That's the one I always want to use. Except for various artist albums, but I guess you can identify those. Or maybe add it to the window options instead of global, so we can turn it off for a single release.

Hi DJSamhein,

this wouldn't work, sorry. I need to interact with the Browser and this works perfect with activeX and the Internet Explorer. :(

Hi,

in the following post i explain why Internet Explorer is needed.

http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ex#p414807

But you can install Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 10 !!
https://technet.microsoft.com/de-de/lib ... s.85).aspx

You didn't have to use Internet Explorer 11 for standard browsing, only a view people do this
As long as Edge is your standard browser, you didn't realize that it is installed.
