Mood Checkbox Script 1

Post by prohank »

Hey guys,I have found a script which I liked very much but there's a problem to it which is making it unusable.
The script is Mood Check box Script 1.
Here's the link
http://www.mediamonkey.com/addons/brows ... ox-script/
There are check boxes but the checks are not visible otherwise its working fine.
I don't know if this has already been posted before.Google didn't help so I thought of asking.
Anyone with VB knowledge can solve this I think.

This script is awesome. Please improvise it..
Thanks!!!

It runs on ver 6 but the check marks aren't visible when you click on the boxes though the file gets tagged with the mood. That means it runs right? Please correct me if I am wrong.
I hope somebody can correct this.
It shouldn't be so hard, should it?Just making the check marks visible? :-? :(

Mediamonkey has no version 6 its still in version 4. 8)

If whatever you are using the script with is working to edit the mood field but doesnt inducate if the option is checked then its more likely a error in that program that is not using the fonts or the same way to place marks in boxes as mediamonkey is using.
But its working so at least you got what you wanted.

Really Sorry.I goofed up there a little bit.The version is 4.0.6.
But if the ticks arent visible it just doubles the work.
Anyways if there is anything that you can help with to solve the problem i would be very grateful.
Thanks!

Only thing i can think of is possibly the font size error might be showing up in this script and causing the checks to not show, what size are you using for the fonts in mediamonkey?
Check the options panel on the section for changing skins there should be a font size changer shown there what % or pixel size is showen that is used? If anything other then 0% or 8 pixels
Change it back to those and check the boxes again.
If the marks show up then notifiy the script author and see if they can fix it.
If the size is already at the default then try changing it to another size and check the boxes for the marks, if they show up again notifiy the script author.

If after checking that they dont show up at all, then send a pm to rusty or to jiri or to peke or to ludek, they are all developers of mm and should be able to figure out what is going on with it.
Good luck. :)

I did as you said.
By default the font size was px 11.
I changed it to 8 as well as many other values.
still no luck :(
Any other ideas?
Should I paste the script code here itself for you to check if its not against the rules of MM forum?
Because the developer of this script has given up on any further updates

I cant think of anything else but if you've contacted the author and they have for sure abandoned the script then post it in a thread in the scripting forum and explain inyour post its been abandoned and ask in there for the others to help. Because they can be of more help but if it was abandoned then there might be a reason it was and you might have found that reason, still one of the others might figure out the error for you. So try if you have permission from the author. 8)

The script would need a re-write indeed:
1. Check mark should be visible after setting the mood
2. By clicking it again the check mark should disappear and the mood should be removed from the song
3. When a new song starts playing the script should check which moods are set and should visualize them by showing the appropriate check marks
4. Check boxes should be dynamically added/positioned, and the user should be able to add the needed moods in an simple array format, or the moods should be those that are already used in the library without having to specify them in the script.

You are aware that in the MM toolbar you can set the mood too? And there are scripts like Custom Fields Tagger that let you set multiple moods (or other song properties) from the right-click menu? They don't provide a panel though. Maybe Custom Fields Tagger could be enhanced to also include an (optional) panel like this script.

Candidates?
Extensions: ExternalTools, ExtractFields, SongPreviewer, LinkedTracks, CleanImport, and some other scripts (Need Help with Addons > List of All Scripts).

Its a late reply..but still haven't given up on MM.
I still love it.
Surprised that there aren't any developers left in this forum.
If there are how can they miss this???

Steegy gave some important points above.

Anyone interested???
