This program looks amazing! However I have been sorting all of my albums by ", The" at the end. For example, instead of "The Beatles" I have "Beatles, The". This is so when I am in windows explorer, I don't have everything beginning with "The" bunched up together. Is there any chance of getting a script that would help me with this endeavor? (I am using MediaMonkey 3 Gold and have little to no scripting/advanced computer skills.)

Maybe if I ran this script to add "the" to the beginning of everything then ran a secondary script that would move "the" to the end of the artist's name followed by a ", ". Just an idea. I think that check boxes might be necessary for this though...

Thank you very much Trix! You have somehow made a great program even better! :D

You can do this with MM itself, just use $MovePrefix(<Album>) in your mask. When you auto-organize your files with that, it will change The XXX to XXX, The.

By the way, is there a tutorial on how to do advanced masking within MM? I tried searching and couldn't find anything.

For instance, is there a way to move all of the "the"s back to the beginning so that I can use Trixmoto's script?

Thanks again!

Right in the help file (Press F1 key while MM is open.) There is a section on all available mask commands under the "reference information" section at the bottom.

I was checking that out but it didn't say anything about "prefix"... It works just fine though, just wouldn't have know to use it if you hadn't told me. Thanks again!

I hear ya! I'm actually on my lunch break now!

Anyway, I just thought of a workaround...

First, search for ", The"

Tag all from filename:
\<Album Artist>, The\
To get rid of ", The" at end

Auto-Organize
C:\My Music\The <Album Artist>\<Album>\<Track#> <Title>

Tag all from filename:
\<Album Artist>\<skip>\<skip>

Then just repeat for the Artist Field. (or find a script if available.)

Then going forward I'll just use the "$MovePrefix(<Album>)" in my auto-organizing process.

Thanks again!

However, do you know if there is an easier way to get "the" back to the front? Like the opposite of the mask you mentioned.

Also, is there a tutorial that goes above and beyond what the help has?

Thanks!

Well in that case you just use <Album>

You could also use my "Fix Trailing The" script! :)
Download my scripts at my own MediaMonkey fansite.
All the code for my website and scripts is safely backed up immediately and for free using Dropbox.

Is there anything you can't do Trix? :)

On a side note, is it posible to just have this script update the artist and album artist fields?

Thanks!!!!!!
