New Scrobbler with Unicode support

Since I'm struggling to see a new updated version of Last.fm Scrobbler, I tried to figure ou why it's making unicode songs not correctly scrobbled..
So, I looked into the Application Data, and the nthe log file, and opened the cache file file, and guess what: the file was written in ANSI, this char-table isn't unicode, and can't even keep one single letter as readable as it was.

I tried to modify the encoding to UTF-8 and then Unicode, used Notepad and Notepad++ but still when the scrobbler want to upload the songs to the last.fm, it changes the encoding again and get it back to ANSI.

I guess, one year ago, i posted the problem but someone said it was a server problem, but i don't think so since ven other MM scrobbler can scrobble unicode, So please be sure to check out the problem and send feedback to the developer.

So my wishlist, is if you guys can make a new gui for audioscrobbler, so it'll move the log list into a button that opens logs in notepad, and replace the space with a scrobbling cache, with a submit now button and a "Tracks in cache" number and also a list with the latest 5 or 10 songs or even the whole list of songs in cache.

I also want you uys to fix the unicode problems, since my library starts to have more japanese, chinese, turkish, russian songs than english ones, so i have always to switch player to play them and scrobble them corretly, and as sais im always offline, and that happens only when i'm off so, when i get online unicode tracks scrobble correctly with no problems.

Code: Select all

OptionSheetID=1
Enabled=1
OnlyWithAlbumTagged=1
NowPlaying=1
ForceHandshake=0
Status=1
EnableToolbarIcon=1
ScrobbleOnlyLibrary=0
MultipleArtist=0
LogToFile=1
Username=
Password=
CacheOnly=0
I replaced the code in the MediaMonkey.ini with the above code after having trouble to connect my MediaMonkey 4.0.7.1511, but still no scrobbling of songs.
The log always looks like this:
09.07.2013 21:25:10.806: Last.FM: Nowplaying Play Detected at 1373397910
09.07.2013 21:25:10.831: Last.FM: Handshake Session Started
09.07.2013 21:25:10.882: Last.FM: Handshake No Connection To Last.FM Handshake failed
09.07.2013 21:25:10.910: Last.FM: NowPlaying Skipping

Could my localized account at http://www.lastfm.de instead of http://www.last.fm be a problem?

I have problem using Last.fm Scrobber.
Scrobber doesn't seem to work, and everytime I check Scrobber Log, it is the same 7 lines and no more line will be added.

Did you find a fix for this? It worked for me about a year ago. Just got a new system and its a no-go!

You were able to fix this? I've had no luck with getting it to actually scrobble. I am stuck with this:

Barry4679 wrote:Also the Clean Cache button is confusing. There is no confirmation that it does anything. ie. there is no indication that the cache has any entries before I press it, and therefore I can't see that it is now clear. The Refresh button still shows the last 5 entries, and the Show Log File facilities is still populated, and the cache clear operation is not logged.
I'm not sure what "Clean" means in this context: does it re-try scrobbling the items that are cached, or does it just empty out the cache?
Assuming it starts a scrobble re-try, if that re-try fails, do the tracks stay in the cache or are they lost?

I am testing now beta version MediaMonkey_4.1.0.1652_Debug.exe. When I tried to install Last.fm_Scrobbler_1.0.2.29.mmip, MM application can't be started and I'm having error Access violation at address 0050D2F0 in module 'MediaMonkey.exe'. Write of address 00000278.
Of course an error report has been sent already.

I deleted gen_LastFMScrobbler.dll from plugins folder, but it's only temporary solution which let me run MM but without scrobbling funcionality. Hope to see new version of Scrobbler soon or any other help with this issue. Regards.

How about a simple page about how to set this up? Just looking for where to put what. No idea how this is supposed to work. Would think something like that would be on the first page.

I have no idea how to add my account. Also it says "enable, disable, or cache" and there are options for red, yellow, and green, but there's no explanation for which color associates to which function.
