This is brilliant, been using it for a months now, but one caveat is with songs that end aprubtly. Obviously crossfade isn't intelligent enough to know which songs are fine to crossfade and which aren't, but with this script its one giant step closer. Is it possible to add a way to tell the script to treat an individual track as though the next song is always considered the next track on the album? So it never crossfades at the end of that track, no matter what song is played next?

I've spent the last few weeks getting my crossfade to work the way I want, I am using SQR Soft (based on a recommendation from nohitter I think)and so far MM crossfades like I want.

I installed this script and started playing some albums and I'm still getting a crossfade. I am not supposed to have to uncheck Crossfade or AutoDJ, correct?

Maybe I missed something else. Any thoughts?

... wouldn't turning off crossfading altogether be exactly the same thing?

I don't think this script can control anything other than the default MM output plugin.

That makes sense. I'll try that if I want to listen to albums for a while.

No, not at all. I'm not asking if all songs can be ignored by crossfade, just particular songs which do not fit well with crossfading.

i.e. Black Horse & The Cherry Tree - KT Tunstall. The ending is abrupt and is always cut off by crossfading - what I want is a way to tell Forget Crossfade to forget crossfade on this (and any other) track(s) just like it does with sequential album tracks.

Many on the internet say to use a crossfade of 10 seconds on everything.

For some reason, forget crossfade is no longer recognizing songs that are in the same album, and is hence not turning off crossfade when it should. any ideas about how to debug this problem?

thanks...

Remember it has to not only be from the same album, but be the next track on that album.

His site has gone offline. Does anyone have a mirror, copy or another way of accessing this script?

As Dale and his site seem to have disappeared I've uploaded the script to my own webspace.

If there are any problems with downloading it let me know.

Cheers,

It's working for me in MM4, I've just double-checked it.

Are you on Windows XP?
