When attempting to run statistic reports I get this message:
Error happened duirng script initialization:
Could not start Windows scripting control (msscript.ocx). You can install it from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/.
I did not have this problem until recently. I read Peke's sticky post and did both of the steps (registered the dll and downloaded/installed the file), but nothing changed. I searched Microsoft's download site, and it doesn't recognize "msscript.ocx".
I am running Windows XP Media Center Edition. I can only think of one possible source for the problem: in late 2006 I installed the anti-virus support for Spy Sweeper. (I had been running the "regular" Spy Sweeper for two years.) However, I cannot find anything in Spy Sweeper that would be preventing the script from running.

Except mine is right when I load MM and I think it is caused by MonkeyRok.
I followed all the the script tips in the sticky, and additional research lead me to a script executable from MS called sct10en.exe - it is the base of the program. I have no idea how this got corrupted or uninstalled on my system, but installing it did the trick.

Usually running "regsvr32 msscript.ocx" suffices to get it working again.
If that isn't enough (e.g. if the file msscript.ocx doesn't exist) then you need to (re)install the Windows Scripting Host.
I don't know how I got the problem, but it may be caused by uninstalling some old programs.
MSSCRIPT.OCX problem immediatly fixed, after weeks of dinking around with the BS MS Knowledge base, and doing a lot of nada. THIS IMMEDIATLY WORKED (after boot) without learning all the XYZ's of boring old MSXP again.
just run regsrv32 msscript.ocx and its like buttah
I'm having this same problem. Going to MS website to download sct10en.exe, I see there's no Vista compatibility listed. Will this still work for me? I don't want to screw anything up.
Running regsrv32 msscript.ocx didn't find the file.

It is windows ActiveX Component. I suspect reg cleaner Visual Studio Component even Virus can target it to hijack trusted app to gain access to system component.
Taken from ZoneAlarm Help Regarding Component control:
Restricts or monitors individual components, such as DLL files or ActiveX controls, that malware programs may use to access the network. If program control is Medium, component control tracks components but does not restrict them. If program control is High, it prompts you to allow or deny new components.
