For those who haven't come across Salling Clicker yet, it's a tool that provides scripted communication between your Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone and your PC.

I've written a script for Clicker that allows you to control and interact with MediaMonkey from your phone. You can...

- Play, pause and navigate through the current song list
- See details on the currently played song, including album art
- List all songs in the current playlist and access any song directly
- Browse for tracks to add to your playlist by title, artist, album etc.
- Search for tracks by title, artist, etc.

If, like me, you want full access to your library even when you're not at your PC and don't have a wiress media player (or when you're in the garden) then this may be the solution!

I've posted it to the Salling forum here. Let me know if you have any suggestions for improvements.

Seems like Winamp needs a plug-in for it to work, but I gather you've done it all without the need for plug-ins...

Stuff like this certainly makes it even more fun to be a Monkey

Cannot test due to same reasons as Trixmoto

Yeah I admit the prerequisites are an issue; a newish phone and a bluetooth USB dongle. Not sure I'd buy those things just for this, but as I had them it seemed a shame not to put them to good use.

Up until now I've used WMP or iTunes with the Airclick PC remote (for some reason I had not even noticed Salling Clicker). This is a fantastic option. I've installed it and it works very well, and now I have a use for my old Sony Ericsson Z600

EDIT: I don't know if it's because of my old phone, or something else, but all I see is the currently playing song & album info. I don't see any album art, there's no list of the other tracks in the now playing list, and I can't browse for any other tracks.

EDIT 2: It must be my phone, since I have the same situation with iTunes and WMP. Well, I'll just have to try it with my new phone (when I get it).

According to this, Clicker doesn't support graphics for your phone.

If you don't have the "More" option, you may want to try pressing the # button.

ah, well that would explain it - no fancy graphics for me then

Thanks - the # and * keys allow all the other functions.

Also, if there is no song already playing, I can't start it from the phone (even if the now playing list is populated)... only start/pause a currently playing track and move to next/previous. If I try to start playing it simply displays the pause sign on screen. However, if using the "browser" feature to select a song, it does start the selected song.

It is checked up on Nokia 6600. The excellent product, but has not liked me a font - it very big (few lines are displayed on the screen).

ControlFreak 2 is alternative plugin for Winamp (support only Nokia Series 60 smartphones). ControlFreak 2 it is a masterpiece.

* Added to menu: Shuffle mode on/off
* Added to menu: Continuous mode on/off
* Added to menu: Help with new hot-keys
* Added to menu: About information
* Added Stop playing command
* Added Clear List command to playlist actions
* Added rate track on play screen: use '7', '8', '9' keys
* Moved song information to play screen: use '1' key ('#' - new hot-key for Help)
* Changed Previous command: if playback time < 5sec then play previous track else play current track from begin
