Win7shell plugin integrates Winamp with Windows 7 taskbar!

OK, guys, I just discovered this amazing plugin for Winamp:
Win7shell (Winamp integration with Windows 7's shell )

The Good:
Basically, it gives Winamp all the niceties of the new Windows 7 taskbar, including:

• playback status and progress in background of the taskbar icon;
• playback status using icon overlays on the taskbar icon;
• aero peek thumbnail with Winamp logo OR album art OR customized info about current media OR custom image file;
• player control buttons on aero peek thumbnail
• and much more... (learn more at the site)

The Bad
it doesn't work with MediaMonkey! meh...
But, it is licensed by GPL. So, if some programming guru could be able to adapt the code and make it work with MM, that would be über cool, don't you think?

When you say "mostly" this is what is missing
1. Control of play, pause, stop, forward, back and rating
2. The progress of the playing tack is no reflected in the taskbar icon with the current build
3. the icon does not change color to tell what is happening with the player.

Regarding #1, I think you missed something. In fact, playback and rating controls do exist in MM Aero Peak thumbnail.
Overlay icons in taskbar showing player status also work well.

What I miss for the moment is the colored progress bar and the ability to customize what's displayed in the thumbnail, as does the Win7shell Winamp plugin.

Good discussion. Microsoft has published a spec for the jump list (feel free to bash microsoft here). Program control is supposed to be in the jumplist too. Yes you can control playback and rating from the preview image, but it needs to be in the jump list too, at least as an option.

So far, however, Mediamonkey is the best program in the world to control and manage a music collection, bar none. Once 7 is fully out and adopted by people mediamonkey will fit in perfectly.
