I have both MediaMonkey 4 for Windows and the Android app (paid versions if that is relevant).

It appears that if I level volumes on a song and sync that song for the first time to the android app, that volume leveling is copied over with the song and works. However, if I change the settings (via Tools | Options... | Volume Leveling) to make the target volume higher or lower and then sync again, the modified volume settings are not synced.

Is this a known issue? Is there a way to modify volume leveling and have it apply to the android playback as well?

ATM there is no way to change Volume Leveling for MMA playback in MMA options.

But if you change Target volume level in Device profile Options MMW should reconvert and resync files added as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=15894

My pleasure, but as Ludek pointed what if you changed Volume Leveling from 89 -> 95 and you have 25k of tracks should they all be reconverted?

I would rather have MMA be able to adjust playback Gain than having to wait 25k of tracks to be converted and resynced.

I believe I am a typical user, in that I rarely play music from a source other than my phone. If I change anything about a music file (metadata or otherwise), it is only useful if that change makes it to my phone. So from my perspective it is really important for changes such as track leveling to be synced, whether for 10 files or for 25K.

That said, others may have strong and conflicting opinions. A possible "best of both worlds" solution might be to have a preference such as "Synchronize files with minor or metadata-only changes". If enabled, synchronization would attempt to fully synchronize. If disabled, some changes predicted to be of potentially low value could be omitted when synchronizing.

Absent such a preference, I hope you'll go with syncing leveling changes... The ability to change the target level in metadata without rewriting the music content of a file is a fantastically useful feature of MediaMonkey. But it's currently very difficult to get value out of it for anyone who primarily plays music from their phone.
