[SOLVED] MediaMonkey4 no longer recognizes iphone6

Post by HassanMullah »

Hello,

so far my Windows 10 (1709) has worked great with MediaMonkey 4.1.20.1864 (portable) mode and iphone 6 (iOS 11.4).

A few days ago the update to Windows 10 (1803) came and iTunes also got an update to version 12.7.5.9.

Since then, MediaMonkey no longer recognizes my iphone. So I can't synchronize the playlists any more.

In the past it was mostly the updates of the iphone and MediaMonkey delivered a new version. What does it look like now? Does MediaMonkey deliver something new here, or is the error somewhere else?

Thanks for your help

Greeting Hassan

Does iTunes recognize the iPhone after the update? If yes, does MediaMonkey restart helps to recognize it too?
Sometimes you must accept the "Trust to this PC" prompt on the iPhone screen for the iPhone to be shown in iTunes / MediaMonkey.

iTunes recognizes the iPhone cleanly. And yes, I get the message on my iPhone "Can this device access photos and videos? Here I then press on "Allow". Windows recognizes the iPhone in the Windows Device Manager. I can also sync and make a backup in iTunes. But it is no longer recognized in MediaMonkey. For example, if I attach an external USB hard disk, MediaMonkey recognizes it immediately.

ok, if you go to Options > Portable Device sync
do you see the iPhone listed there? Maybe it has got just unchecked in the 'Show' column?
If it is checked in the show column then I would need to see debug log, item 4b here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=69
i.e.
1) Plug iPhone to PC
2) Start DbgView
3) Start MM and wait for 30 seconds
save the log

hello Ludek,

bad news. device was not unplugged. the only 2 lines which the logfile will generate are

Code: Select all

00000001	0.00000000	[10184] ASL checking for logging parameters in environment variable "MediaMonkey64Helper.exe.log"
00000002	0.00012872	[10184] ASL checking for logging parameters in environment variable "asl.log"

Out of frustration I searched for Microsoft updates and KB4284848 was found.

Here is the link to the MS page: https://support.microsoft.com/de-de/hel ... -kb4284848

The description line was bold: Apple, In.c - USBDevive - 5/7/2018 12:00:00 AM - 423.36.

OK, Try and Error was the motto. After a reboot my iPhone was available in MediaMonkey 4 again.

thread has been closed.

OK, nice to hear that it is solved for you.

The log was not generated, because you probably run the release build, you need the debug build ( http://www.mediamonkey.com/sw/MediaMonkey_Debug.exe ) for the debug output to be generated.
