Hi guys,

I have been syncing my iPod with MM for years including converting ALAC to MP3. Now MM tells me "trial expired". How is that possible with a gold licencse? How can I fix this?

Cheers

Check Help > About. You may be using the free version and need to enter your License to unlock the Gold features (which includes unlimited MP3 encoding).

That's what I thought too, but it shows the gold licences to my name...

So Help > About shows it's licensed?

Maybe it's on the ALAC side: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... aac-tracks Did you install a codec for this?

Yes, it IS licenced, showing gold licence and my name

The files play fine. They just don't get converted to MP3 upon transfer to the iPod. I honestly can't say if I ever bought the codec pack, but I know for certain is has worked until recently. The codecs are all open source anyway....

Any idea how to get transcoding back?

You could try to convert ALAC to FLAC and something else to MP3. It would narrow down if the issue is with ALAC or MP3.

Why would I want to engage in a cross-conversion orgy? What I want to do is simply sync my iPod to my library like I did in the past years, while converting only ALAC files (30% of my library) to MP3 on the fly.

Could you please tell me why I am getting "trial expired" with my gold licence?

No, you'd try one file. Doing both methods, whichever fails would tell you where the problem lies on your system. Either with ALAC or MP3. You can also check if the ALAC files still play on in MediaMonkey.

Tools > Extensions will show what you've installed.
