Artwork is incorrect...

Post by GreenTimeMusic »

I just synced up my playlists and when I play the music in MM for version 4.1.16.1836 I see all the correct artwork.
When I sync it and play it on my ipad for the most part I see the correct artwork but about 20% of the artwork is completely wrong.
Any thoughts as to why this is happening?

I have tried selecting Search for missing artwork automatically and also same missing artwork automatically. I have also tried sync with these both unselected.

Anything else that might be causing this?

Thanks.

On sync MediaMonkey uses a single Artwork per Album. So incorrect Artwork could've come from another Track on the Album.

So just to understand what you are saying.

The group is: General Public
The song is: Tenderness
The album is called: Greatest Hit's Of The 80's.
The album cover is: General Public - Tenderness

This same 'General Public' album cover is showing up for the following 4 songs:
Bryan Adams - Summer of 69
Don Henley - The Boys Of Summer
Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight
The Tubes - She's A Beauty

Apparently, they all have album titles of 'Greatest Hit's Of The 80's'.
These songs are in a completely different playlist too.
But when I view them in MM they are the correct artwork. When I sync it to my ipad, they are not the correct artwork and all have the same 'General Public' album cover.
This is correct behavior?

Thanks.

If they belong to the same Album, yes. The same Album constitutes files with the same Album and the same Album Artist value. Then sync only syncs a single Artwork from 1 of the files on the Album.

Thank you for your response.

So obviously, Bryan Adams - Summer of 69 / Don Henley - The Boys Of Summer / Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight / The Tubes - She's A Beauty do NOT all belong to the same album at all. They just happen to all have the same album title (greatest hits). You state if they all belong to the same album then they will have the same artwork. But they do not all belong to the same album. So why is all the artwork the same? Thanks.

What is the Album Artist for each of these albums (not the Artist, the Album Artist)? If it is the same for each and the Album title is the same as you say, then it will be regarded as one album.

Only if Album AND Album Artist are the same would MediaMonkey consider them the same Album. If Album Artist is the individual artist values for each of those Greatest Hits tracks they'll be treated like individual Albums each with their own Artwork.
