VAT when ordering MM

Post by European »

Hi there,

for the maybe fourth time I started to purchase MediaMonkey and cancelled the order process before finishing it.

I'm a citizen of the European Union and when I place one lifetime licence of MM in my basket, the page says:

1. Order Total : EUR 25.38
2. VAT at local rate will be added for European Union customers

But who adds what at which stage of the ordering process? Do customs officer visit me after purchasing this software? Is it hold for ransom and I have to pay them off to release the monkey?

Please help, I really do not understand this procedure... :(

A puzzled European

The total price you'll pay (i.e. what will your credit card be charged) will be that EUR 25.38 + local VAT (something around 17%). This VAT will be collected by SWReg (our payments handling company) and will be transfered to EU tax office.

Thank you for your reply.

This means, SWReg charges my credit card with the total sum?

That would be a total of 29,44 EUR as we in Germany have a VAT of 16%.

Yes, after you enter all information required (including your credit card number), SWReg knows from where you are and can apply VAT. So the total payment should be that 29,44 EUR.
