Manual Playlist Loading Slowly

I'm using the latest version of MM (4.1.26.1896) on a machine with a recent clean installation of Windows 10 Home. My library contains 30,000 songs, all of which are stored on a dedicated partition of the same internal SSD that hosts the OS & the MM installation. All of the sudden, when I go to a manual (non-smart) playlist, it takes 10 seconds or so to display the songs in the playlist, even if there are just 3 or 4 songs. The songs in the Smart Playlists, though, snap right up. I tried the Complete Optimization of the DB to no effect. I could really use some insight and ideas.
