Best way to send MMonkey to stereo? (Wireless? Bluetooth?)
How are you guys playing Media Monkey over your stereo?
I'm looking for a wireless option. Is anyone using Chromecast? What other HDMI options are there?
Thanks!

You can do DLNA or Bluetooth from MediaMonkey. MediaMonkey 5 will be able to Chromecast as well (however Google has discontinued the Chromecast Audio dongles).
HDMI is a video cable standard (there are wireless options for this).

Sorry I know what HDMI is I was asking if there was an HDMI Bluetooth solution out there vs. RCA. I wasn't clear that's my fault.
Does anyone have a Chromecast Audio and if so will it work with MMonky 4? I can buy one on ebay no problem.

MM4 does not support Chromecast, though MM5 is supposed to.

Activate Bluetooth on stereo system.
Activate bluetooth on the laptop.
Activate the connection to the stereo system on the laptop.
Start MM and play music. That's it
Chromecast is dead. No longer being produced.

Got it, I dont have Bluetooth on my stereo. Thats what Im looking for is a solution to attach to my stereo via HDMI (if possible) and play to that device.Erwin Hanzl wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2019 1:51 pm Activate Bluetooth on stereo system.

There are RCA Bluetooth receivers: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IQBSW28 and 3.5 plugs as well.
HDMI however is for video, whereas Bluetooth is Audio. There are wireless HDMI options: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=wireless+hdm ... _sb_noss_1 Other solutions are for screencasting to an HDMI dongle.
Although MM4 can't do Chromecast there are some desktop Chromecast options (I believe one was discusses on the forum).

There is USB Bluetooth adapter to buy about 30 euros. Connect to stereo and address via AUX.
Look the link from Lowlander. I have the same LOGITECH.

Hi,
There is number of solutions see https://www.amazon.com/s?k=RCA+Wireless ... ef=sr_pg_2
It all depends on Receiver, Also if you use AV Receiver you can use HDMI to transfer Audio Only as actual control will done on receiver.
https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Adapte ... ay&sr=8-20 Looks enough for you.
Or one of these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DLQH623/re ... UTF8&psc=1

Re: Best way to send MMonkey to stereo? (Wireless? Bluetooth?)
Bluetooth can result in diminished audio quality, especially if the source is lossless. Audio Chromecast may not be produced any longer, but is hardly dead. There are many sources - just check on eBay. It works well and handles hi-res audio files much better than Bluetooth. Unfortunately, MM4 does not support it, though I have been able to get it working in MM5 (that it didn't is my own fault). If you are considering HDMI, you might also look at Audio over Ethernet solutions. Here's a web entry with some suggestions: https://www.kirkville.com/10-ways-to-co ... -a-stereo/
Re: Best way to send MMonkey to stereo? (Wireless? Bluetooth?)
Thanks everyone!!
I went with this solution:
https://www.crutchfield.com/S-oRowTEJCW ... 7YEALw_wcB
Its a bluetooth solution and it arrived today. Including hook up, out of the box, I am up and running in about 5 minutes.
Yes the audio is a bit compressed but the wireless facet of the deal seals it for me for now.
Thanks again for everyone's input.

Hi Guys….
I found the Up2Stream Pro V3 https://www.arylic.com/products/up2stre ... iver-board.
I have tested it with MM4 and MM5 with headphones. I have managed to stream the music via Wi-Fi. As I understand Wi-Fi is better than Bluetooth. I have yet to conntect this to my amp and speakers but it is worth having a look.
I really want to watch movies on my projector and send the audio to the device at the other end of the room with NO wires.
I am sure there is a bloke who is much clever than I that can make it work
Dan

Hey Dan,
That looks like a really cool solution however I am trying to stream from my laptop to a non-networked stereo receiver without Bluetooth.
I don't quite see how this solution works for me but thank you.
