I've just purchased a new machine. I've installed MM again and I want to find the best way to reinstall my database and all the subsequent information (play count etc) rather than just scan 100,000+ files.
I've always had problems with Trixmoto's backup extension.
Cheers for any help.

Re: New PC
Excellent. Should be easy since I use a network location for my files so don't need to copy them.
Thanks
Thanks
Re: New PC
And if you use a UNC Path instead of Mapped Drive you won't need to update the database either. Then all you need is to copy the database over to the new PC.

Re: New PC
Ahhh, play counts...
Last year I moved MM off of my main PC and onto a laptop I was using as a media server. It went from being on a mapped NAS drive to just a network path on the new computer. I did a rediscovery to find all the "missing" library tracks and went forward just fine, except I lost my play counts...
I still have a backup copy of my MM database from before the move.
Now I'm planning to move MM back to my main PC, since a new receiver I got will let me render to it directly over my network via DLNA. Once I get MM up and running on my main PC again, is there some script out there that would allow me to extract my play counts from last year's old library backup and then load them back into my current MM library? My plan would be to load the old library DB onto my laptop once MM is safely running and everything looks alright on the PC, and run the script on the laptop to extract the play counts as of last year.
Bonus points for a script that would allow me to add the play counts from the old library to the play counts I racked up in the past year on the laptop...
