Artwork corruption

Had a problem now for years where artwork gets corrupted, anecdotally it seems to occur more with old MP3/WMA files and not so much with recent albums I have ripped. Basically it changes the artwork to one or two of the same type which seem to either be Dire Straits or Van Halen. It drives me nuts I seem to go around in circles every few weeks fixing artwork only for it to get corrupted again. I am running the most recent version 4.1.20. Has anyone else experienced this?
