What happens when I do a portable install, if I already have an existing hard disk install?
Where is/are the MM files like the MM.DB and the INI file ? Do I have 2 or what?
Do I have to install my current extensions and scripts in the portable?
What happens to playlists? Who do I get them into the portable?
What happens when I connect the usb to another computer and it’s a different drive letter?
Do I have to always attach as a particular drive letter or what?

They are 2 district installs. If you want add-ons you will need to install the ones you want.
You can copy the db to the portable dir if you want to. That way you will have your playlists

Which implies that it is correct
Edit: Fixed. When migrating from a local install to a portable install, do not follow the instructions on “moving to a new computer” that tell you to copy the .ini file. Only copy the .db file and the Metadata Cache folder. Overwriting the .ini file in the portable install will cause that install to look to your hard drive for the database.

It is going well. Attached the USB to a new computer and It played everything. I did not see my Auto Organize rules changed.
I would like to set up auto organize rules for a portable install. Assume that I will move new files to the USB drive with my library and MM on it, to a folder called "ToBeOrganized".
How do you code the "Main Directory" so its not hard coded {I:\Rock} and set to the "Rock" directory, off the root
This is what I have
