auto label from root folder

Post by Milagro »

Hello I like to auto label my file using the flowing structure

<artiest>/<album>/<skip>
c:/music/<artiest>/<album>/song.mp3
c:/music/<artiest>/<album>/CD1/song.mp3

But the auto label function starts in the same directory as the source file(s
resulting as; CD1 as album

Is there a way to start in c:/music and build it op from there?

Yes, by adding the full Path to the Destination mask:

c:\music\<Album Artist>\<Album>\CD<Disc#>\<Filename>

Is it also possible to skip a folder? Because it give a wrong label when a extra folder is present

c:\music\artiest\song\title.mp3

c:\music\<artiest>\<song>\title.mp3
The structure gives the correct value

But structure below gives the label music (first folder) because of the folder cd1
c:\music\<artiest>\cd1\<song>\title.mp3

If you're using Auto-Tag from Filename you'll need use a different mask per folder/filename configuration. You can't use a global mask to cover all folder/filename combinations. So create a mask for files without a Disc# subfolder and use it only on files without a Disc# subfolder and then create one for files with Disc# subfolder to be used only on files with a Disc# subfolder.
