Tracks lost

Post by Alvaro Mera »

I was updating track numbers when suddenly, all track numbers on the page started to become "14". Went up and down and all of them had changed. I somehow stopped the process and when MM refreshed, all track numbers were blank. Still have MM open, hoping that I may recover without closing. This happened on my Win 7 with ver 4.0.7.1511. Perhaps if I close MM and open it again, it may be fine, but I am reluctant to do it. My data base is over 20,000 songs.

Wanting to know whether I could recover from a previous data base, tried to find it and can not. Entered "mmdb", "mm.db", "mediamonkey.dat" in both my Win 8 and Win 7 laptops and none can find it. My Win 8 with ver 4.0.6.1501 is working fine, with an older db, which may become my way out of this problem.

Some suggestions, please.

Thanks.

Apologies for the above message. I was in mild panic.

I decided to switch to one of my collections and it showed all track numbers. Went back to the entire collection and it refreshed with all tracks intact. Sorry for having sent the message before trying this out.

In any case, I still would like to know where is the data base located. Thanks.

I don't have the specific link to where the db is (in which version of windows but it has been posted before and sure it will be again. If no one does pm me and I will look for it in the wiki.

BUT, there is a great little addon for backing up db settings etc and I would suggest using it when making big changes. Note that this only backups MM info. If you do something to wild to tags or tracks .. well .. no help there :)

Let me know if no one posts the link
