Hi there!
I have about 4,000 songs on the playlists that synch with my iPod. About every third time I connect the iPod, MediaMonkey initiates a _full_ resynchronization, copying over all 4,000 songs. This is, as you may guess, a bit of a hassle.
What could be causing this?

I'm not quite sure (as I don't own an iPod) but here are some possibilities I thought up.
Maybe "Auto-Synchronise as soon as the device is connected" could be selected under synchronisation options, but as you said that it only happens around every three times the iPod is connected, maybe this might not be so.
Another idea is that as some tracks have been added into the library or changed, auto-sync might update the iPod to keep it up-to-date.

Both of these are true, but neither addresses the problem. Most of the time, what happens is that about a dozen tracks are updated back and forth between the iPod and MM.julzcompufreek wrote:Maybe "Auto-Synchronise as soon as the device is connected" could be selected under synchronisation options, but as you said that it only happens around every three times the iPod is connected, maybe this might not be so.

But, every (now it is up to ) 4th or 5th time, it starts to synchronize all 4,000 songs. New Behaviour: if I disconnect in the middle of this big synch, then shut down MM, restart it, and reconnect, it will go back to only synching the dozen or so files that it should.
Very odd ...

It was doing this for me and I narrowed down the problem. MM will resync any song that doesnt exactly match the version on the iPod. If you auto-organize all you're files, then all the files will be synched. Also, it syncs every single song that you play on you're iPod, because when you play it, the timestamp is changed.
Thats all I was able to come up with, but you're problem is a little bit weird so I don't know.
