MM Startup Volume

Post by swears2 » Thu Jul 03, 2008 12:37 am

Is their a way to make a preset volume for when MM startups? And not just the volume control inside MM, but the windows Volume as well.

This could be very useful since I'm trying to use MM as an alarm in the morning, but since I usually fall asleep watching a movie on the same PC(hooked up to TV), the volume is either to low or to loud.

Any Suggestions?

Don't fall asleep watching a movie and set the Monkey to the appropriate volume?

Some high-end sound cards have the capacity for "programme profiles" but those are few and far between.

It might be possible with something a little more blunt - things like these can be run as batch processes with command-line parameters, so you set it to execute at say 4am to raise the default system volume, so when you're alarm goes off at 6am (if you're an industrious go-getter) it'll be louder.

Now that you mention it, it would be possible to just have a batch file run as a scheduled task as well.

I'm not familiar with any of the commands to set the volume in windows though. I've search around a bit. Any of you geniuses know how to do this?
I'm hoping for something like Set_Volume=XX, but I doubt it's that easy.
I know that "sndvol" opens up the volume control, at least in vista. If their were only a argument i could add to set volume.
