How do I auto renumber files?

Post by boxall »

Say I have 10 WMA files which have the wrong Track Number in their ID info. Anyway to autonumber them?

Another freeware app: mp3tag you simply highlight the files and pres CTRL-K.

But this is the app I love and want to manage everything with.

Are the tags somewhere in the file name? Or are you talking about querying some internet database for info about the files? In the first case use autotag from filename, in the second case MediaMonkey won't be able to help you.

I just want to change the tag info in the WMA for the track number. So I just want to say start at say 1 and increment a counter and add it to the tag. No lookups or anything.

Instead of manually editing eash track number tag.

I see now. That funcionality isn't built-in into mediamonkey but it should be quite easy to write a script that does the job. However, you need the gold version to run scripts.

Thanks. Back to freeware MP3tag then.
