Make a fake device?
I like to create collections of copies of tunes in folders on a second hard disk in my computer. The folders are called CD1, CD2, CD3 etc. Each one will get to 700mb before I start another then I'll have a burning session (just using Nero) and I'll play the resulting CDs in the car. The car player c...

Re: MM4 keeps asking for admin permission when starting up
I think there are maybe other times this can happen, but not always at startup. If any part of your library isn't in user folders but in folders that Windows considers outside the norm - for example if you keep music in C:\Music\ I think you also get the prompt if your .ini file tells MediaMonkey to...

CDs and Volume Levelling
In MediaMonkey Gold I have currently set "Target Volume for levelling tracks to" 89db and "Level Playback volume" to 91db If I increase the value for "Target volume for levelling tracks" to higher than 89db some music will distort / clip on playback so I leave it at 89....

Re: Column Cloning
Hadn't noticed, that's a lot better now I know that I can move columns around in less steps. Thanks

Re: Column Cloning
I guess that half helps. I can't get Now Playing or Playlists to share the column settings that are set in another node like Music

Column Cloning
Depending whether I'm viewing a playlist, Now Playing, Entire Library, Music etc I see different columns in different orders. I can understand why this is and it's very useful. In the end though I like most of my views to have identical columns in the same order for consistency. It's a pain manually...

Best Backup Strategy?
My music is backed up to external hard drive. My MM.DB file is kept in my documents folder (I changed the .ini file to allow this). It gets backed up regularly by my backup software. I spend quite a long time getting MM to work the way I like. I tweak the prefs, sort out what columns are displayed a...

Re: License Key
I started MediaMonkey yesterday and went to edit an AutoPlaylist, it told me to do that I'd have to upgrade to Gold. I've already paid for Gold. I had to re-enter my key, seems it had 'forgotten' it somehow.

Re: What's the advantage of WASAPI output in MM4?
Have been using MediaMonkey 4 all day today with WASPI in Exclusive Mode. In Windows' Control Panel I've ticked the option to allow devices to take Exclusive Control. Songs still jump when I do an edit, not always, maybe one in three times. I am using Crossfade - which I suspect means I lose bit-per...

Re: VIdeo in Media monkey
Go to Options, then to Library then click the File Monitor button and deselect any folders where you are likely to keep videos. Ideally set the File Monitor to only keep an eye on Music folders.

I'm also Win7 x64, I was using WASAPI but not using Exclusive Mode, but will do that right now and do some more tests.

Re: VIdeo in Media monkey
Go to Options then General then OS integration. In the window entitled Select extensions to be associated with MediaMonkey untick the parent Video box this should untick all of the other video types. Next time you play a video from a folder on your computer, try right clicking on it and look for Ope...

Re: Setting the "file types" values
If you go into Options then Library then Media Tree and scroll to the bottom of the right hand window you will see Add New Collection You can't create a new filetype (apparently this is under consideration). You can still make your Sounds collection and you can create rules for Sounds (such as no cr...
