Re: Asus Vivo Smart Tab 64gb Windows 8

You can also use "non-certified" devices with Play To, provided that they are devices that implement the DLNA specs. See here for the trick:

Re: Album Sort Bug [#11197]

OK, fine. Since I don't have access to the MM Mantis system, I wasn't aware that the bug was already reported.

Album Sort Bug [#11197]

I've noticed that there appears to be a bug in the sorting of Albums and Artists. If I view by Album, then if any album happens to have a title that is in lower-case, it gets displayed at the very end of the list. In my case, after the albums that begin with "Z". Same with artists. So, "k.d. lang" a...

Re: "play to" function

Somehow, I rather doubt that Microsoft will drop the "Microsoft-certified" requirement in Windows 8.1. They seem to think it's a good idea. More background about their reasons, plus a pointer to the registry tweak to get around the restriction, is here: http://gcoupe.wordpress.com/2013/04/02/windows...

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you are trying to say here Petr.

The Ctrl + and Ctrl - keystrokes do not work in MM8 to move between Semantic Zoom levels. They do work correctly in other Metro apps that I've tried - e.g. Microsoft's Xbox Music App.

I haven't tested if the Ctrl + Mouse scroll is implemented due to lack of scroll on my laptop.
Ctrl + Mouse scroll wheel is implemented.

Semantic Zoom Keys Not Implemented?

According to Microsoft's UI Guidelines, Semantic Zoom should be able to be controlled by Ctrl + and Ctrl - keys. See
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... 65319.aspx

This does not seem to be implemented in MM8 at the moment.

Re: "play to" function

It also exists in MM8. But I think that the method of using it is not exactly intuitive. However, to be fair, this may be the way that Windows 8 Device sharing works, because I see the same thing in both MM8 and in the Xbox Music App. What you need to do is first to start an album or track playing. ...

Podcast Sequencing

I like the fact that MM8 will display my Podcasts in a separate list. I don't really like the fact that it only displays Podcast entries in alphabetical order. I would far prefer to see the list in date order; either newest first or oldest first (a choice that I could make). The Zune client does thi...

EricB wrote:I realized I asked the question incorrectly.

What I was really wanting to know is... can I "scan folders" in MM8 using the same folders I use with MM 4.x and have the music files remain where they are without having 2 copies of the files in different locations?
The answer is yes.

Request for Better Sorting

I would like to see that MM8 (and indeed MM for Windows) would be able to sort without the definite and indefinite articles, in English, at least. In other words, I wouldn't have to wade through endless "A 'some arbitrary album'" or "The 'some arbitrary album'", but that "arbitrary albums" would be ...

Deleted Albums, Artists Still Appear In Album List

Windows 8 comes with some sample music (e.g. tracks from Ninja Tuna, Bob Acri). This was included in my library, but now I've deleted the tracks and the folders (held on my WHS 2011 server). They have already been deleted from the Windows 8 machines locally (the sample music was held in C:\Users\Pub...

Re: Album Art Disappears

Well, as far as I can see, we're both doing the same thing, but I'm definitely seeing this on two different systems.

Perhaps it's down to the number of Albums or where they are stored? I have 1,050 in the library, and they are all stored on a WHS 2011 system.
