Re: IPOD Classic Syncing

I have 250 gig IPOD Classic and and I can't get it to snyc. All of my other devices have synced with no problem and but this one won't. Please help. A little more info, please. 1) Does MM see the Classic (is it in the tree after being plugged in)? 2) If it appears in the tree does MM scan it when i...

Re: Help. All meta data is under the field "title".

The wav format has very poor metadata standards and few programs provide much data because there is no place to put it. Personally, I don't understand why wav is a choice when other lossless formats, such as FLAC, exist and provide much better metadata support (and smaller files). And, for what it i...

Re: music missing in library after installing 4.1.7.1741

Did you delete the old MM before installing the upgrade? I think that would not usually delete the library, but depending on how MM is deleted I think that could happen.

Re: No results from Auto-Tag from Web

There are lots of options for acquiring album artwork. I assume you know you can paste copied album art in properties - artwork. Sources I use for artwork than can be copied and pasted are: Discogs Allmusic Cduniverse http://www.albumartexchange.com/ In each case you will have to search for the albu...

Re: Gold version: the code you entered is invalid

Since all those options require that I enter the very information I am trying to get so I can enter that information to retrive the information the site wants, I guess I am just out of luck in restoring my gold registration. Re: Gold version: the code you entered is invalid

I regret having to revisit this issue, but it has to be revisited because MM makes it so difficult to retrieve a lost registration key. To do that you need your user name and password. If you don't know your user name and password, you need your user name and password to ask about the user name and ...

Re: Auto-Organize: Disc number only if more discs

The disc # doesn't require a script at all. This what I use. The $if determines whether a disc number is included and gives me Disc 1, Disc 2, etc. You must ensure that the disc number tag in properties is blank for albums with just one disc. i:\Jazz Albums\<Album Artist>\<Album>\\$if(<Disc#>,Disc <...

Re: Can't find more tracks from the same album

What do you put in the Album Artist tag? For compilation albums the Album Artist should be something like Various or Various Artists or anything that is the same for each track. If Album Artist and Artist are the same on a compilation (so that Album Artist is different for each track) then MM will t...

Re: classical music - movements

Are you using the linked tracks add-on? If not, I suggest you use it (http://www.mediamonkey.com/addons/browse/item/linkedtracks/). Once you have ordered the tracks correctly for a particular performance, and then link all the movements they will play in the correct order once the first track (first...

Re: unknown artist for many purchased CD's

Are you connected to the internet when you do this? There is no tagging information on the cd itself. I'm new to MediaMonkey. I'm starting to build an entirely new library from my CD collection. Many of the CD's when I load them in my floppy drive, are reading as Unknown Artist. Even CD's like Neil ...

Re: can't see FLAC files

Under Tools -> Options -> OS Integration is FLAC checked? My MM 4.1.3.1708 doesn't see any FLAC files, and won't scan them to the library. Do I need to add a FLAC plugin or something? Normally I take an hour-long live recording of our band as a WAV 44.1kHz 24bit file on my Zoom H2, then use Audacity...

Re: how can I org music by Musician not ablum

You can use auto-organize (under tools) to organise tracks. You will need to set up a mask; here's the one I use for jazz albums that I put into a "master" folder called Jazz Albums: i:\Jazz Albums\<Album Artist>\<Album>\\$if(<Disc#>,Disc <Disc#>\)<Track#:2> <Title> It will move all tracks that you ...

And it's not correct that iTunes will "of course" download only to its own folder. You specify where it will download in Edit - Preferences - Advanced.

Re: Newbie, throwing myself at yoru mercy!

Others have answered your other questions but I thought I should point out that you do not need to do anything to tracks that are encoded in FLAC to move them in MP3 format to a portable player. MM handles that for you when syncing. Hello all, 4) I realize that many people will then, later, move som...

Re: Import Movies into MM

You'll have to find a dvd ripper that works outside MM and then import the ripped file into MM. Here's a discussion:
