Re: MM4 Gold: simple questions
Thanks Lowlander. So IF I buy MM Gold, and the codec pack, I will be able to play and convert to my hearts content, to songs I purchased from iTunes that are presently copy-protected (grrr); and m4A files >48 kHz (also from iTunes grrr why are some songs on an album like this...)? The auto-tagging l...

MM4 Gold: simple questions
I've dawdled about upgrading for ages and it's now or never. All I want to know is: 1. Can I freely convert m4A and m4p files to mp3? 2. Do I need to buy the MediaMonkey Codec Pack separately to play/convert M4A files > 48KHz to MP3? 3. Is an alternative to the now defunct Freedb to automatically ta...

Re: Licensing changes to free version of MM?
I haven't changed a single thing but I'm over it.
Upgrading. Can someone tell me what the Mediamonkey codec pack actually does? "This MediaMonkey addon adds unlimited encoding to MP4, AVI, and M4A files, along with video playback in various formats." And this means?

Re: Licensing changes to free version of MM?
I can confirm that mp3 encoding has always been a limited trial for at least the 7 years that I have been using MM. If you installed MM to that PC about two months ago and the last time you were able to use the mp3 encoder was about three weeks ago then you were probably still within the 30 day tri...

Re: Licensing changes to free version of MM?
Hi Lowlander I'm puzzled. I added a whole bunch of CDs literally 3 weeks ago to MM. No problem. No limits. All saved as MP3s. To be honest, I can understand it if the developers would say, "there is a 30 day trial period after which you have to upgrade" but that is not the explanation. Alt...

Licensing changes to free version of MM?
I just tried to rip a CD into MM and got the following message: "Due to licensing restrictions, the free version of MediaMonkey cannot bundle MP3 functionality beyond a 30 day trial period. For unrestricted MP3 encoding functionality please upgrade." I've been using MM for years and this i...

Re: Problems adding CD tracks to MM!
Hi there and thank you for that link. I have no idea how those settings got corrupted but that has sorted out importing songs from CDs. I've also managed to figure out why some of the songs on the playlists were not working so now I am a "happy chappie"! Cheers

Problems adding CD tracks to MM!
I have MM version 4.1.21.1875 and have a very strange problem. Freedb finds the tracks names and all data are displayed correctly but when I try to rip to my MM database on the PC, they want to be copied to a totally different (previous) folder and all the track names are given the same name. I susp...

Re: Files on device: not in playlists. UPDATE
I remembered I had a similar problem when I first got my Fiio and there was a suggestion to "force relative paths". Now most of the songs in the playlists are recognised but there is a cluster of songs I've recently added that are on the device and will play when accessed directly - but th...

Strange FiiO X1 v2 synch problem
I've used MM to transfer songs and playlists before and after some initial teething problems have got it to work. This issue is weird. I've added songs and all have copied successfully. I have manually altered playlists by adding songs from within the device hard drive and can see and play them thro...

[SOLVED] MM and Fiio X1 v2: synced playlists are blank!
I have MM 4.1.14.1813 and used it to transfer songs onto my brand new Fiio X1 v2. A few songs didn't transfer - some perhaps the MP3 quality was too low (is there a fix for that?) and others are iTunes license legacies I suspect but most of the 8000+ did. So did the playlists - they just didn't have...
