Re: Access errors on adding to playlist (and other things)

I ended up not testing it last night, because in the meantime I discovered Music Bee and have switched to it because it fits my needs much better out-of-the-box than MediaMonkey. But I wanted to say thanks for the help while I wrestled with MediaMonkey, especially to Lowlander. The amount of new use...

Re: Access errors on adding to playlist (and other things)

Yeah, that came to me at the end of the thought process. I'll do it tonight, thanks. :)

Access errors on adding to playlist (and other things)

Ever since I started using the debug mode, which was a few builds ago (1508, maybe - but continues to current), I've been seeing frequent access errors, especially when I'm trying to add tracks to a playlist (which may be because that's most of what I'm doing, not because that's a specific trigger)....

Re: Newbie questions: Playlists, "music" tab

Lowlander wrote:However as both can reference a Static Playlist (to which you can manually add files) you can still manually add files to an Auto-Playlist or Collection (via the Static Playlist).
That's a good point.

Re: Newbie questions: Playlists, "music" tab

A work-around might be the ability to assign different playlists to different folders on your device, but that's not possible yet either. Should probably be requested. I'm with you in feeling that playlist organization is a little weak - although I do like the ability to nest playlists. So I can hav...

Re: What kind of user are you?

I put intermediate because I like for my software to work and think the way I do. I'm willing to invest some time to make that happen. I tend to resist learning more new skills than necessary (scripting, etc), but if it saves me time in the long run I'll do it. That's how I started scripting with Pi...

Re: If you had to sift down yr entire collection into 10 gen

I'm kind of genre dumb because I get lost in the shades of gray, but here's what I'd call them:

EBM
Classic Rock
Folk
Bluegrass
Celtic
Pop (1950s-current)
Lesbian singer-songwriters (no, seriously. especially if you include some honorary members.)
Christmas
Satire
Soundtracks

Re: Newbie questions: Playlists, "music" tab

I recently migrated from iTunes, too, and already registered my wish for that return-to-same-position feature. Using the back button *usually* works for me. But sometimes MM randomly forgets my history. Or if I deleted the file I had selected, it goes back to the top anyway.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S3 flac syncronisation

When I checked it, it just put the playlists inside another folder called "Playlist". As though I'd told it to put them in the directory \Playlists\Playlist. Not very helpful. :)

Re: Samsung Galaxy S3 flac syncronisation

Ah, well. What is "Organize playlists using subdirectory for each type" supposed to do, if not break them up according to music/audiobook/etc? (All I can see it doing is creating a second directory called "playlist".) In any case, I have successfully synced ~1500 tracks, mix of M...

Re: Samsung Galaxy S3 flac syncronisation

Once I got my phone running with flac support AND added flac to the accepted types in Media Monkey, everything went pretty smoothly. Having a little trouble with duplicate playlists showing up after I've unsynced and resynced things, but I think that's more a problem on the phone end than MM's end. ...

Yeah, I figured out after the fact what I needed to do. :) Thanks! Now I'm just waiting for the transfer to finish to confirm that everything is as it should be.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S3 flac syncronisation

Same problem here. I tried upgrading to 1506, but that didn't do it. I'm on a Motorola Atrix 2. Edit: sorry, correction. I hadn't yet added FLAC as a supported format. The tracks are transferring now. I think I just need to sync as a generic USB device to get all the playlists and everything straigh...

Re: Analyze Files For Duplicates Doesn't Seem To Work MM 4.0

Huh. Okay. Thanks for clarifying that.

I don't suppose there's any plan to implement comparing by puid or something?
